IDEAS. NEW COLOURS. While doing a multi-colours friendship bracelet (sorry for the untidy background with all the colour codes for different bracelets. Only I can understand. lol), I found out a few colours in it match very well. The seagreen, white, beige and the dark brown. I am going use it for my next friendship bracelet. Still don’t know which patterns to use it on.
This friendship bracelet patterns is one of my favourite. It is hand-woven using cotton embroidery floss in gradient shades of blue, black and white color. The length of the woven area is approx. 6″ (15cm), 0.5″ (1cm) width and the total length is approx. 10″ (22.5cm) with a loop at one end and two braided ends at the other end.
It can be used as a bracelet, anklet, bookmark, keychain etc.

What a day! Making a new friendship bracelet today, the colours of the bracelet that I matched looks ….. not the look that I want.
Matching colours is important in making a friendship bracelet. People do say that:”Choose your favourite colours!” But some patterns don’t look good in some particular colours. Example two colours combinations on the same pattern. both look so different.
The knots on the bracelet are very fine. The colours must blend. Even with the colours on the pattern looks different on the final product. Sometimes I look around my desk for inspiration – I have many colourful craft work on my desk. I do check the website for some color wheels to play with, like www.paletton.com, www.colorblender.com etc. Sometimes I depend on my mood to have the color combination for the bracelets. Therefore, some bracelets will look very UGLY when I am not in good mood.
These friendship bracelets are hand-woven using cotton embroidery floss in rainbow color. The length of the woven area is approx. 6″ (15cm), 0.8″ (2cm) width and the total length is approx. 7″ (17.5cm) with a loop at one end and a white plastic button at the other end.
I personally felt that friendship bracelets does not necessarily wear around the wrist. I have made many others that fit for other purposes like anklet, bookmark, keychain etc.

Making friendship bracelets, threads are the main item. There are many types of thread and many points to look out for. For example, the texture, the thickness, the colours etc. I prefer to use embroidery floss for making friendship bracelets especially DMC embroidery floss. DMC Cotton Embroidery Floss is a soft thread made from 100% long staple Egyptian cotton. It is comprised of 6 size 25 easily separated strands, allow you to adjust the thickness of your stitching by using a different number of strands. Colours are 100% colorfast and fade resistant. DMC Cotton Embroidery Floss is available in 454 solid colors, 18 variegated colors. If you wants your friendship bracelet in different thickness, you can add more strands to it.
There are many other kinds of strings like, craft thread, yarn, crochet thread, cord, leather string, sew thread etc. There all have different textures and thickness. Up to different preferences.

Working on so many craft works for so many years, suddenly this word “handicraft” came across my mind. What is the meaning of handicraft. In general knowledge, handicraft is a type of skill where useful devices are made by hands or simple tools. Handicrafts involve the creation of a wide range of objects, including clothing, religious symbols and jewelry etc.
Doing handicraft is not a matter of hobbies, but creating useful and creative work for people using different media and traditional skills. Making handicraft is not only to have the finished product, it can train a person to be more patient.
To pick up handicraft to be a hobby, first thing you have to be a patient person. Handicraft takes time to get your final product, therefore if the the person is not patient enough, you will not get the good and finished product.
There is not age limit, there is no sex difference, anyone can make handicraft.
Many crafters use natural materials while others prefer modern, non-traditional materials, and even upcycle industrial materials. Seen as developing the skills and creative interests of students, handicrafts are often integrated into educational systems, both formally and informally.
“Ideally, advertising aims at the goal of a programmed
harmony among all human impulses and aspirations and endeavors.
Using handicraft methods, it stretches out toward the
ultimate electronic goal of a collective consciousness.”
– Marshall McLuhan
“What color is a rabbit?” When you ask this, mostly you will get “white”. Why bunny has to be white?
Bunny can be any colours. I had crocheted an amigurumi bunny in rainbow colours.
It looks weird but in my world, anything can be any colours you like them to be. Sometimes from the colours it shows the mood of the day.
I have made a red amigurumi bunny and a pink one.
Flo is the red bunny who likes to wander around the field. She likes flowers and specially red flowers.
Hope that someone can adopt her, keep her in your garden and she will help you to
look after your beautiful garden.

After packing so many things, and now I have to unpack everything again. Why I have so many things?!! After looking through my stuff, most of them are my craft books.
Crafts are really part of my life. Crochet, knitting, papercraft, embroidery, etc… Just love handmade work.
Packing the things back to their original place is easy like the clothings back into the wardrobe, all the pots and pans into the kitchen cabinet, but where should all my craft stuffs go?! I
would like to put at a place where easy for me to reach. Storeroom is the only place left now. I left all the books in the store room and the materials under my desk in my bedroom.
I have to get familiar with my new place before I start my crafting again.
